Roller and solar shades
Roller shades offer fabrics from sheer to opaque. Screen fabrics can reduce glare while preserving a daytime view outside; privacy depends on the fabric.

Tell us where the sunlight bothers you, how much privacy you need and what you like about the room. At John Crawford Company in Woodland Hills, you can see shade fabrics in person and work with us from selection through installation.
Start with how you use the room, when the sunlight is strongest and how much of the view you want to keep. A fabric that works well in the living room may let in too much light for a bedroom.
Look at the fabric with daylight behind it. You'll get a better sense of the color, how much light comes through and what you can see outside. Then compare the shade styles below for the shape and texture you like.
We also carry Alta shades if you'd like to compare another option for your project.
See how each style filters the light, folds or rolls up, and looks when it covers the window.

We've used solar mesh shades in Valley storefronts to help manage glare while keeping a view outside. At home, a screen shade can help when afternoon sunlight falls across a television or the spot where you sit.
Daytime view and nighttime privacy are different needs. A lit room may be visible through a screen fabric after dark. If you need privacy then, we can look at a different fabric or an additional layer.
For a bedroom, we'll also look at room-darkening fabrics and the light that can enter around the edges. The fabric and the way the shade fits both matter.
Our service includes measuring and installation as well as shade selection. We check the mounting space and available controls, fit the shades and show you how to use them.
We keep you informed as the project moves along. After installation, you can call us with questions about the shades or their controls.
Many collections offer motorized options. We can check what's available for the shade styles you're considering, your window sizes and the way you'd like to control them.
Yes. We can compare fabrics and colors across the rooms you're working on. That may mean using different shade types where the light, privacy or door access calls for it.
Window size, fabric, product construction and controls all affect the cost. After discussing your budget and choices, we take professional measurements and prepare a quote.
